When I joined the Y in January I had just found a running program at Cool Running called Couch to 5K or C25K for short. So I decided that my goal, along with my weight loss, was to run a 5K for my 40th birthday on June 30. Well, I went and registered for one! Estes Park Marathon and Optimist 5K & 10K It's in Colorado, where my sister has moved to, and I found it when I was doing a websearch on her new location. Kind of as a lark I suggested coming out for a visit and we could both run. She'll probably do one of the longer races, but it should be great. I'm a little worried about the altitude, but I'm just planning on trying to finish. A complete surprise to me, but I'm enjoying the running and am doing about 2 miles 3 times a week. I should be at the point that I can get the distance by the end of June. I'll probably be bringing up the rear, but I'll do it!
