Well, since I am supposed to be mentioning knitting, occasionally, I thought I'd give a progress photo of the Azkhaban Ravenclaw scarf.
I'm about 60% done and it is moving along well. Nothing too difficult. Just endless knitting on a round needle. The color changes for the stripes are working out pretty well -- this being the first time I have tried that. I like the feel of the yarn, even if it is acrylic. It doesn't feel as nasty as the cheap acrylic yarns I've worked with before. I guess quality counts. My original weight goal has been met. I'm still not happy with my body, so I'm going to see if an addition 10 pounds makes a difference. The charts for my height say that I can be anywhere between 115 and 150, which means that 125 is not too low. Wow, I haven't been 125 since high school. I'm also pretty sure that my home scale is a little off and I'm really closer to 140 right now. We'll see how it goes.
On the running front, I took almost a week off when we had a killer heat wave. I just didn't want to be outside, let alone running in that sauna. The heat broke at the beginning of this week and I've been out in the park trying to build up my mileage. I did about 7.5 miles this week, and I'm hoping to get a long run in on Sunday. I'm aiming for a 4 mile race in September. I may stick a 5k in between now and then - there is one next weekend being sponsored by a local brewpub. What can be better than running and free beer?
