Nothing happening because I'm sick
Well, nothing much has been going on here since I caught a bug on Wednesday. I didn't go to the gym Wednesday night after work because I started to feel a bit sick. Scratchy throat and a bit of out of sorts. So I thought I'd skip my workout and coddle myself to see if I'd feel better on Thursday. Didn't happen. Woke up feeling horrible on Thursday. Called into work and spent the whole day wrapped in blankets on the sofa watching daytime TV. My head was killing me so I couldn't read or stitch. I had no energy so I couldn't do anything. Fortunately, Shannon seemed to sense that I wasn't feeling good and didn't beg to go outside every hour, which is the usual situation on weekends. Instead she curled up under my blanket and kept me company.

Didn't feel much better on Friday or Saturday and still don't feel one hundred percent. I'm tentatively planning to go to the gym tomorrow night, even if it is only to walk for a half hour on the treadmill.

Since I've pretty much been inside all week, I've been going stir crazy. The head is feeling better so I can manage to sit at the 'puter for short stretches. I've been catching up on my blog reading and I found a Meme that is going around the RBF blogs. I think Boulder started it. So I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Here are some photos of my refrigerator.

This the outside. Notice souvenir postcards from my vacations and friends. A poster of a cute puppy I got at the Marathon expo (he was selling collars for hurricane relief)

Here is the inside of the main compartment. Pretty empty. I live by myself so I don't keep tons of food in the house. It would spoil before I could eat it. There's some salsa, marinara sauce, mayo and three chocolate buddhas. You can't see it but there is a pound of baby carrots and a pound of mixed greens in the crisper drawer. Nothing exciting.

Now the freezer is usually packed. I freeze almost everything. Very healthy. Frozen pepper strips and veggie burgers. A bunch of tortillas for wraps and quesadillas. The pound of butter is for cooking and baking. It will probably last me a year, but I'm a bargain shopper and I just can't buy the more expensive smaller size. That's also why there is so much ice cream in there. It's lowfat! Actually, it will probably take me three weeks or more to eat it. Behind what you see is some of the not so healthy stuff that was in there when I started refining my eating habits and I refuse to throw away. Once in a while I'll pull something out and splurge.

I guess it doesn't look like a triathlete's frig, but it is a vast improvement over 2004. It's been over a year now since I started this blog and about the same since I decided to lose weight and get fit. The weight's gone, for good I hope, and I'm still improving the diet. I'm satisfied and I hope you enjoyed my tour of my frig.
