Not much happening around here. I went and bought my first pair of running shoes from a running store in Farmingdale The Runner's Edge. A nice store. I was impressed that they didn't try and sell me a really expensive pair of shoes. I got a pair of Reeboks for about $55.00 on sale. The running sites rate them as a pretty good shoe for those of us who need extra cushioning and some stability. I was prepared for the steep price that all the technical shoes have, but I told the salesperson that I was just starting out and just wanted something better than the sneaks I picked up at the discount shoe store.
The weight loss is still moving along. I'm a little behind schedule to hit my goal weight for my birthday, but I'm fine with a few weeks after :-) I currently weigh the lowest I've weighed since high school. Of course, the body doesn't look the same as it did in high school. The excess weight used to be more distributed about my body, but since I've been losing, my belly refuses to budge. I definitely look slimmer in my face, neck and shoulders - and my chest is disappearing at an incredible rate! - but the belly is still there. 43 pounds and my waist has finally decreased by the two inches to go down a size. I've been looking at new hiking pants, since the ones I had were a little big before, but I'm hesitant to spend the money when I may be in a new size real soon(hopefully).
I'll leave you with a new site for music I found yesterday. I really like world, folk and alt-folk music. I found a site called Folk Alley that streams music twenty-four hours a day of just that kind of stuff. Check it out. |
congrats on the cont. weight loss... I think you're doing great. The belly is always the last to go for me too. Core weight training makes it go quicker, pilates too. Thanks for the folk website - v. cool.
