Bringing it up to date
I know, I haven't posted in a while. But not much has been happening and I haven't been moved to write. The shoulder is still paining me, so running has been really suffering. I only ran twice last week. Yesterday I went out for a half an hour. The running feels OK, but my shoulder gets really sore afterwards. During the run, I get some pains in the muscles across my back and chest. I'm probably still not moving it normally and I'm feeling it.

With the lack of running, I've been having more time to get back into my needlework. The cold weather helps with that, as well. I did an overnight down to Hershey, PA the last weekend in September for The Stitching Festival Hung out with friends, spent money and ate much to much chocolate.

Last weekend, Jenny hosted a stitching party at her apartment. May came all the way from Toronto to visit. The talk was about the anniversary event that was being held this past weekend for our stitching group, the MetroStitchers. A retreat was arranged at Mohonk Mountain House. Mohonk is a victorian resort hotel in the mountains of New York State. Due to budgetary restrictions, I was only planning on going up for the day.

Chelly and I drove up to Mohonk on Saturday. We stopped in the town of New Paltz for lunch and then headed up to the hotel. After some confusion at the front desk (I think they hire some really dense people), we tracked down the rest of the MetroStitchers. We got to see some stitchers we haven't seen in a while and also meet some newish stitchers for the first time. We heard a great deal about the impression the group had been making on those at the hotel that weekend. The MetroStitchers have a thing for tiaras and everyone had at least one for the weekend. The hotel rules state that you must dress for dinner. This was taken as a challenge and much finery was trotted out for the occasion. Eyes were blinded by the 'bling' in the room.

When my salad arrived at dinner, I thought it was so pretty that a photo was needed. That led to photographing the next course, as well. I'm not turning this into a food blog, but I couldn't resist.
The main course I chose was a pork tenderloin with spaetzle, red cabbage and an apple . It was all very good and I was stuffed at the end.

    Hey! I recognise that lobby!

Glad to see you back posting. Great pics -- the food pics made me hungry.
