It all falls apart

Oh my gosh! What a tragedy. One of the things I hate about horse racing is when a horse breaks down. Particularly such a fantastic horse in such a prominent race. You feel for the animal. I hope he recovers. You feel for the rest of the participants. How can you rejoice in a win when the favorite wasn't able to finish? And I'm so sorry for Barbaro's connections.

The race winner was Bernardini, but I'm sure it isn't what most people are thinking about. Congrats to the winner and my best wishes to Barbaro.

It's scary, isn't it. I still get teary-eyed when I think of that moment yesterday.

Read the news last night and the injury is potentially 'life threatening'. Let's hope that it's only career ending. No new news as of this morning -- not that I've seen yet.

Congrats to Bernardini -- though I'm annoyed I didn't get to the track to wager. It doesn't matter now, but he was my long-shot choice to throw into my exacta bet. *sigh*

Congrats on your race! You're awesome! I'm in such bad shape right now and I think I've got a cold (sniff-sniff). It was cold and rainy in Niagara Falls. But I've got lots of great pictures with the new camera. I'm going to get to the gym tomorrow and run on Wednesday. I've got to get some running time in.

    Chelly
